In Home family maternity session for a family of three. A natural and relaxed maternity session in home.

This is the Tarris Family's third session with me! It really felt like greeting old friends and the kids took approx. 2 min to warm up which made for a really fun shoot :)

Diana and I have known each other since we were 7 years old. Roughly the age of her oldest son. It is so cool to witness a friend become an incredible mother and to see glimmers of her in her children. Photographing this crew will never be anything less than a blast. They are wild and free kids with such playful attitudes. The beach is a happy place for them so it made sense to take them to Jericho Beach for their photos.

I am in awe of any large extended family that can organize themselves for a family session all together. The fact that they were so beautifully colour coordinated was beyond impressive. You may recognize one section of this large group from previous family sessions. The Bryce Family are all over my website and blog as this is the 5th shoot I have done with them. I love love love documenting the same families year after year!

Ages 18 months - 3 years is incredibly fun to photograph. One thing to note is that in photo sessions they run the show and you have to embrace it. That is the only kind of family session I am interested in! We don't need to force your child into a bunch of smiling at the camera shots. Instead, let's let them show us what they like to do, where they like to go and ultimately their personality!

This is another story of wedding couple turned family session client. I am here for it! So fun to meet the little humans that they bring into this world. Especially ones as cute as this little bean. Her hair is my favourite.

It was such a treat to visit these five at their home in Fort Langley. Many years ago I photographed Natalie and James' wedding and it's so cool to witness them as Mom and Dad. There were gorgeous late Summer pockets of light and some time spent barefoot on their back lawn.

How gorgeous is Ruby's room!? This little lady is so loved and it was very sweet to be a part of documenting the Shihota's as a family of three. My husband and I photographed their wedding back in the Summer of 2019.

A sunny evening in late Summer for these three. There is something so perfect about the glowy light in the Olympic Village stretch of the Vancouver Sea Wall.

Adding your last family member to the fold - I love these types of sessions! Siblings forming a bond and taking in their new little person/friend. This was my fourth time photographing the Bryce Family and every time I come back it is so much fun to see how they have grown and to capture a new version of their dynamic.

That 1 year mark is cause for celebration! They change so fast and this stage of their life is likely filled with new skills and a whole lot of personality. With my own kids I found it very tempting to book a session every 6 months for their first two years. There are so many physical and cognitive changes and I wanted to commemorate it all!

A dreamy late Fall Session at Campbell Valley Park with the Toth Family. They recently became a crew of 4 which called for a family photo update!

The Bay family hanging out at home together. It was a cold and rainy Saturday and I was soaked just walking from my car to their place in Mount Pleasant! Sometimes in the home is Plan B in wet weather and sometimes its Plan A because in home sessions are pretty meaningful.

The smell of late Spring sweet with cherry blossoms and fresh sea air. A new (almost) walking baby girl. A one year session is always a good idea and it has always felt important to me to document this stage of life, full of firsts.

An afternoon spent at the Tarris Family's gorgeous home. It backs onto the woods and has loads of windows to let the light flood in. Beds were jumped on and (small) people were hung upside down.

Stories, puzzles, cuddles and wrestling on the bed. All that makes up your days together - include them in your session.

In 2020 we all spent an extraordinary amount of time at home. It was hard, it was sweet and it was intense for us with young children. It makes sense that so many family sessions in 2020 and 2021 were at home because it's where most of the living was done.

Sometimes the best place for a family session with young kids is in your home, their happy place. This is where they often feel free to be authentically them and it comes across in the images of moments captured. McAllister In home family session.

A family session for our dear friends who had their baby girl a month apart from our son. A bonus for shooting our friends is the whole family joins me and sometimes (if I can help it) it ends in dinner.

Is there anything more poetic and cozy than hard sideways rain drops on a windowpane? An in home session as Plan A is always a good idea BUT it also makes an excellent Plan B with young kids.
